Legislative Victories
2011–2012 – Telecom Modernization – The Assembly and Senate passed Special Session Senate Bill 13, which updates the state's telecommunications laws. The new law no longer forces telecommunications companies to invest in out-dated technologies. In short, the bill provides the framework for more consumer choices and maintains the strong consumer protections Wisconsin citizens enjoy.

2009–2010 –
- Raw Milk – The Assembly and Senate passed Senate Bill 434, which alled dairy farmers to sell unpasteurized milk, buttermilk, butter, and cream directly to consumers. There are currently 19 states that allow the sale of regulated raw milk. The passage of this legislation by the Assembly and Senate proved to be a short-lived victory, as Governor Doyle chose to veto the bill.
- Payday Loans – The Wisconsin legislature passed 2009 Wisconsin Act 405, which severely reduced consumer choices with respect to auto-title and paday lending. This act is considered a victory because consumer choice groups were able to show the need for these products, and helped stop any further invasive legislation.
- Social Security Numbers – 2009 Wisconsin Act 347 prohibits the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions from using individual’s Social Security numbers in its corporate registration system. It also allows DFI to remove Social Security numbers from documents prior to publishing them as a public record. A victory in safeguarding consumers private financial information and helping to prevent identity theft.
